What do the clients say?
Jennifer is great. She patiently guides clients through the process of understanding
their audiences, messages, and online communication needs, and then skillfully
translates these insights into the Web design and production process. She
knows this business, is creative, works fast and is reasonably priced.

We really appreciated the time Jennifer took to understand our mission and

What do the clients say?
The Source Group, Inc. has only praise for Jennifer Loring and the work
she does. Not only was she a delight to work with, but her work was exceptional.
Jennifer developed a new website for our company, creating a new design that we took to immediately. We've adopted this new look across all our marketing materials and presentations.
Our new design was so refreshing that we thought it was also time update our company logo to reflect our new, more progressive style. Jennifer was able to assist us with that too, creating a fresh new look that suits our business perfectly.
Jennifer’s responsiveness and turnaround time was great. She kept the project moving forward on schedule and on budget. The Source Group highly recommends Jennifer. She is a true professional.

Blue Shield of California, 2005 - 2007
Our User Experience team redesigned several portal sites and online applications as well as Blue Shield's home page based on extensive usability testing and research.
In 2006 with new branding in place, we redesigned the home page to better
serve members, a critical audience, and provided improved overall organization
to the page.
As Blue Shield evolves in the market its home page also continues to evolve.
Our initial research and library of findings supports ongoing design efforts.
As a producer and content strategist at Blue Shield, I was involved in almost every project over 2+ years. Below are just a couple of examples - I'd need a whole other page to post them all. (Thumbnails link to larger versions.)
Library of Congress - WiseGuide, 2003 - 2004
producer: Jennifer Loring
UI/IA design: Kim Nies
design: Chad Renard
programming: Chad Renard, Jaime Ruiz
The Library of Congress wanted a new site that would provide a very user-friendly presentation of content culled from their enormous stores of digital assets.
Essentially, the WiseGuide is an online, monthly magazine full of fun facts and history. In addition to producing the project, I also researched, wrote and edited content.
It launched in 2003. See it live at www.loc.gov/wiseguide

Live since 2001, the America's Library site was a labor of love for executive
producer Kathy Turner and a large team at 415 who built a fun, learning site
for kids from the hundreds of millions of the Library's assets.
- It was
a Communication
Arts Site
of the Week!
I was fortunate to be part of that team and continued to work with the Library
post-415 to support the site - creating new stories and interactive games.

Old Bridge Cellars, 2002 - 2003
producer: Jennifer Loring
UI/IA design: Jennifer Loring
design: Chad Renard, programming: Jaime Ruiz
OBC's original site was extremely outdated and they needed a new site to reflect their passion for Australia's wine and its winemakers.
In addition to producing, I designed the information architecture and user interface (IA/UI). The Old Bridge team maintained the site on their own using Dreamweaver and Photoshop.
The site has since evolved, but our redesign served them well for almost four years.

One of many CHCF projects was a redesign for OneEApp - an online application for enrolling families in healthcare programs. (UI/IA design by Leslie Bamburg)
Other projects included an online publication - iHealthBeat - a site reporting the impact of technology on healthcare. (UI/IA design by Damon Dean & Jennifer Loring)
iHealthBeat launched in 2002 and the new OneEApp application launched in summer 2003.
Levi Strauss & Co., 2000 - 2003
producer:
Jennifer

design:
Rolf Mortensen,
Bill Domonkos,
Gabe Wasserman
programming:
Andy Cowitt,
Carrie Meurer
Back in spring/summer of 2000 we did minor visual updates to the Levi site - minor because at that time we couldn't change any existing functionality.
For the Spring 01 site we revamped the UI/IA to serve three brands - Levi, Dockers and Slates. All three sites had to use the same system, and thus, the same architecture. A challenge indeed, as all three sites had very different marketing (and real estate) needs.
Our UI foundation built in 2001 lasted several years.
PinPoint Solutions, 2002
producer:
Jennifer
Loring
design:
Bill Domonkos,
Ayako Kusumi
programming:
PinPoint
PinPoint, a tech-savvy company, needed an updated design for their site. Their original site was the standard, inverted "L" structure in "royal tech blue" with a white content area. It didn't at all reflect their sharp, technical capabilities.
Bill & Ayako worked together to create a rich, clean look, and Ayako built a small Flash animation to give the page some movement, and also to elegantly show samples of code that would help communicate their technical expertise to their target audience.

programming:

SGI needed a redesigned site to better represent their company, and also to provide a greater degree of information about their services and past performance case studies.
Their logo also needed updating and they liked the new one so much, they rebranded all their corporate materials with it. SGI maintains the site using Dreamweaver.

Kasala Furniture, 2001 - 2004
producer:
Jennifer
Loring
design:
Shami Rinderspacher
programming:
Andy Cowitt
Kasala Furniture, a cool Seattle-based furniture store, wanted to update the look of their site to be more in line with the styles and brands they represent.
Working with the Kasala team, Shami created a clean, modern look and the site organization and programming is very simple for easy maintenance by the Kasala team.
Their new site launched in 2001.

HealthTech, 2003 - 2004
producer,
UI/IA and
graphic
design:
Jennifer
Loring
content
development:
Dan Danzig
programming: HealthTech
HealthTech's web site needed improved content organization and a more professional look to better appeal to future Partners and their target audiences.
Working with Dan Danzig PR and HealthTech, we developed a new design better supporting their position as a leader in research and planning tools - finding a cleaner, more modern look and graphic elements that enhance rather than dominate the page.
Before & after pics are below. It's evolved somewhat from the original design. The new site launched summer 2004.
